Trimble’s Kelly Williams Earns Pros to Know Award from Supply & Demand Chain Executive

We are very proud to announce that Kelly Williams, Network Strategy Product Lead, has earned an award from Supply & Demand Chain Executive as one of their 2023 Pros to Know!

The annual Pros to Know award recognizes outstanding executives whose accomplishments offer a roadmap for other leaders looking to leverage the supply chain for a competitive advantage.

Kelly has a deep trucking industry background, with 20 years spent at Schneider National Carriers, as well as Breakthrough Fuel. These roles were critical to bringing her where she is today, as the product leader for Engage Lane, Trimble’s transformative freight procurement solution. Engage Lane aims to streamline the bid process by enhancing collaboration between shippers and carriers.

Engage Lane Changes the Game

Engage Lane started as a passion project of Kelly’s, born from experiencing the challenges and opportunities that lie within the relationship between carriers and shippers. This project fit in perfectly with Trimble’s connected supply chain vision, focused on identifying and building solutions that allow all supply chain stakeholders to collaborate more effectively and efficiently.

With Engage Lane, shippers and carriers can establish relationships based on their needs and priorities, expedite contracting, onboarding and transactional processes, so that deals can close in days instead of months and all parties can more effectively utilize available capacity.

The system intelligently matches lanes and routes based on a variety of factors, which are then scored and shared between both shippers and carriers – ultimately allowing carriers to submit bids for the lanes that make sense for them, while providing shippers with additional capacity that meets their specific needs.

Since its introduction in 2022, Engage Lane has already helped shippers and carriers contract and move more than $34 million worth of business.

But Kelly has not rested on this success: she and her team have continued to enhance the solution, bringing in even more of Trimble’s powerhouse of connected capabilities, like Connected Locations to provide estimated dwell time information, driver amenities, estimated greenhouse gas emissions and more. These enhancements put the driver front-and-center within the solution from the very start of the procurement process.

Award-Winning Leadership

This is not the first award Kelly has earned for her skilled leadership of the Engage Lane team. In November 2022, she and Rishi Mehra, vice president of product vision and experience, were awarded a “Best in Show” recognition from FreightWaves for a demo they presented at its F3 Future of Freight Festival. Catch a replay of their demo here.

Dan Popkin, sector vice president of enterprise at Trimble, congratulated Kelly on her success and remarked, “Kelly is a breath of fresh air whose unique combination of vision, entrepreneurialism, interpersonal finesse, and gritty execution makes us all better every day.  I am proud to have her as a teammate and part of the Trimble community.”

Supply & Demand Chain Executive Editor-in-Chief Marina Mayer had this to say about Kelly and the other 2023 Pros to Know, sharing that Kelly was chosen as a winner from a pool of nearly 400 nominees:

“This year’s list is filled with supply chain professionals whose achievements and success stories have helped move the needle in the supply chain. They promote safety, sustainability and workforce development. They work toward helping heal the supply chain.”

“They embody what a true leader should be. And, without their initiatives, programs and collaborative efforts, today’s supply chains would be in worse shape,” Mayer added.

Congratulations to Kelly for earning this amazing recognition!
