  • Q. What is happening between Trimble and Platform Science?

    A. Trimble and Platform Science recently announced a definitive agreement to partner in transforming the future of commercial vehicle in-cab technology. Upon closing of the proposed transaction, Trimble will divest its transportation telematics business units in North America, Europe and Latin America to Platform Science, and become a significant shareholder in Platform Science’s expanded business.

  • Q. Why are parts of Trimble’s transportation business and Platform Science coming together?

    A. Trimble and Platform Science share a commitment to maximizing customer value and together will continue to improve safety, efficiency and compliance for the global transportation industry. Platform Science's strong OEM relationships and vehicle platform technology combined with Trimble's strong aftermarket fleet management applications, integrations and global presence will create an organization capable of transforming the global transportation industry.

  • Q. Will the Trimble products I use be a part of this agreement?

    A. In North America, if you are a current customer of Trimble’s transportation telematics business and rely on Instinct, PMobile, Driver ELD, Trimble Fleet Manager, PeopleNet Fleet Manager, Trimble App Manager or Video Intelligence, upon closing of the proposed transaction, your agreement will be supported by both Platform Science and Trimble. Until then, there will be no change to your service or key account contacts.

    In Europe, if you are a current customer of Trimble’s transportation telematics business and rely on CarCube, Truck4U, FleetXPS, Trimble App Manager, Video Intelligence or any other telematics solution provided by Trimble, Punch or Solid, upon closing of the proposed transaction, your agreement will be supported by both Platform Science and Trimble. Until then, there will be no change to your service or key account contacts.

    In Latin America, if you are a current customer of Trimble and rely on Vfleet, Vsafe, Vmov, or any other fleet management and fleet safety product, upon closing of the proposed transaction, your agreement will be supported by both Platform Science and Trimble. Until then, there will be no change to your service or key account contacts.

  • Q. The transportation products from Trimble I use are not included in the above lists. What does that mean for me?

    A. There will be no impact to your transportation products or services from Trimble. We continue to be fully invested in transforming the transportation industry through our global commercial mapping, transportation management, freight procurement and visibility technologies. In other words, Trimble’s other core transportation business units—Enterprise, Maps, Vusion and Transporeon—are not included in this proposed transaction.

  • Q. The transportation products from Trimble I use are included in the above lists. What’s next for me?

    A. Our commitment is and will continue to be to offer solutions that meet your business needs. We will continue operating as "business as usual," and you will continue to receive the same service and support you received today.

    Upon closing of the potential transaction, Trimble’s global transportation telematics customers will continue to enjoy the benefits of their Trimble solutions, while gaining access to hundreds of additional solutions and applications through Platform Science’s Virtual Vehicle platform.

  • Q. When will the proposed transaction close?

    A. We expect the proposed transaction to close during the first half of 2025.
