When it comes to private fleet distribution, efficient, optimal routing is an essential part of success. If you don’t meet a customer’s needs in a timely manner, they’ll find someone who can. That’s why Trimble has released a brand new integration of Trimble PC*Miler mapping and routing web services into the Trimble Appian suite of route optimization and planning solutions, the web-based Appian Daily Planner (ADP) and Appian Resource Calendar (ARC).
The latest in a series of enhancements to Appian, this PC*Miler integration allows route planners and fleet managers to apply customer-specific modifiers to their route plans. Modifiers include vehicle-specific routing profiles (accounting for height, length, etc.), whether or not to incorporate traffic data, customized roads to favor or avoid, tolls along a route, route type and efficiency (practical, shortest, fastest) and many others. Dispatchers can then update their plans and ETAs based on a customer’s unique road network needs.
Fleets need the most accurate route plans and ETAs based on their unique road network needs, so they can maintain delivery schedules and high levels of customer service. For fleets utilizing Trimble CoPilot for commercial navigation, these enhancements ensure greater consistency between a route planned in ADP or ARC and the route ultimately provided to the driver.
This integration also helps better connect dispatchers and drivers and provide customers with the most accurate ETAs possible. By combining the power of PC*Miler and Appian, fleets can operate with utmost precision and efficiency, providing the best possible experience for both your team and your customers.
