Ron Finemore Transport (RFT) is one of Australia’s leading family-owned carriers, trusted to deliver time-sensitive food and fuel transport across the Eastern Seaboard, from Queensland to Victoria. However, operating at scale—with hundreds of trucks, complex relay changeovers and some of the industry’s highest service expectations—requires more than experience.
The challenge: maintaining visibility and control at scale
As RFT’s operations grew, outdated, siloed systems made it harder to maintain visibility, manage exceptions and consistently meet a non-negotiable 99.7% on-time service benchmark. The business needed an integrated approach that could unify master data, support multi-leg journeys with exceptionally large vehicles and deliver real-time intelligence across the operation.
The solution: Build a unified ecosystem
RFT partnered with Trimble over several years to build a connected transportation ecosystem designed for real-world complexity. Instead of adding more standalone tools, the focus was on creating one integrated platform, built on a simple principle: clean master data is the foundation of exceptional service.
From there, a suite of solutions was connected via a custom dashboard to support every stage of RFT’s operation:
- Trimble TruckMate TMS – the operational foundation for order intake and processing, multi-leg planning and master data management
- Trimble Freight Visibility – real-time tracking, automated changeovers and exception management
- Trimble CoPilot – truck-legal navigation to a library of highly precise custom locations for B-Double operations
- Trimble TMT Fleet Maintenance – unified asset health, availability and warranty management
