Trimble announces new AI agents and workflows to automate transportation operations

Trimble announced future AI agents and workflows across the company’s connected transportation solutions at the 2025 Trimble Insight Tech Conference in New Orleans. This includes an Order Intake Agent for Trimble’s line of transportation management systems (TMS), an Invoice Scanning Agent for Trimble TMT Fleet Maintenance, and a Road Call Agent for Trimble TMT Road Call

"Our new AI agents are designed to eliminate the manual bottlenecks that slow down supply chain operations,” said Michael Kornhauser, sector vice president, transportation and logistics at Trimble. “Whether it’s processing an order, scanning an invoice or initiating a breakdown response, these AI agents and workflows allow our customers to move faster, realize cost savings and reallocate their most valuable resource — their people — from tedious, repetitive tasks to higher value work.”

Order Intake Agent for Trimble’s Carrier TMS

The new Order Intake Agent can eliminate the need for manual review in as many as 90% of standard order entries. This agent quickly processes orders received through various channels, including email, PDFs and EDI. It enters the data directly into the user’s TMS for review, dramatically reducing the need for manual review, saving time and resources.

Invoice Scanning Agent for TMT Fleet Maintenance

Available for TMT Fleet Maintenance, the Invoice Scanning Agent is designed to automate manual data entry for fleet maintenance managers. The new agent leverages artificial intelligence to scan PDF invoices and automatically enter repair order data directly into TMT Fleet Maintenance.

AI-powered invoice scanning is saving teams hours of daily administrative work, freeing them to focus on other initiatives. Maintenance teams can now pivot from data entry to critical, higher value work such as managing preventive maintenance (PM) schedules or addressing immediate vehicle needs.

Road Call agent for TMT Road Call

Trimble is extending its AI capabilities to the asset maintenance lifecycle with the new Road Call Agent for TMT Road Call, a module of TMT Fleet Maintenance.

This agent provides critical support during roadside breakdown events by interpreting a driver’s natural language to automatically create a ticket for the carrier’s breakdown team using information from the phone call. By assisting drivers from breakdown to repair, the Road Call Agent helps minimize downtime and get drivers back on the road safely and quickly.

New AI features debut at Trimble Insight

Insight also marked the debut of several other AI features for Trimble’s line of transportation and logistics solutions, including the new Fleet Assistant for Trimble Appian, which helps dispatchers manage route exceptions.

Route Assistant was introduced for Trimble PC*Miler Web, allowing customers to create efficient routes using natural language. Trimble TMW.Suite TMS also added Tender Evaluation to streamline the evaluation of tenders by using AI-based algorithms that leverage historical TMS data to grade each tender and select the most profitable option.

AI agent and workflow availability

The Order Intake Agent for Trimble’s line of TMS solutions is available for a pre-release, trial evaluation period for TMW.Suite TMS. It is expected to be available for Trimble TMS, Trimble TruckMate TMS and Innovative TMS during H1 2026.

The other new AI agents and workflows are expected to be available in Q1 2026 for existing Trimble customers. To learn more about Trimble’s AI agents and workflows, check out our Guide to Trimble Insight Innovations. Or, contact our team for additional details or to set up a demo.
